How the medication works:
Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine, which works by stopping the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms.
Indications:
Allergic reactions: Take 15 ml (25 mg) to 30 ml (50 mg) by mouth every 4 to 6 hours as needed for allergic reactions.
Insomnia (Sleep Aid): Take 15 ml (25 mg) to 30 ml (50 mg) by mouth 30 minutes before bedtime for insomnia
Age (years): Dose (tsp) every 4-6 hours

> 12 years: 2-4 tsp

6-12 years: 1-2 tsp

< 6 years: Consult your doctor
Adverse effect:
Dry mouth, drowsiness, fatigue, sleepy, dizziness, paraxodical excitation in children ( experiences excitement in opposed to the expected drowsiness)
Exclusion to self care:

A breathing problem such as chronic bronchitis (Swollen bronchial)

Glaucoma (eye nerve damage)

Trouble urinating caused by swollen prostate gland
Do not use:

To make a child sleepy

Another product containing diphenhydramine

Allergic to diphendydramine

Breastfeeding
Drug Interaction:
Sedative Increase drowsiness and sleepiness
Morphine ( pain medication) Slow down breathing
MAOIS
