Hydrocortisone 1% cream

Compared to Anucort-HC 1% cream

How the medication works: 

Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid or 'steroid' that reduces inflammation, redness and itching in the skin caused by a number of conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, or psoriasis. 

 

Indication: 

Atopic Dermatitis, Skin irritation, allergic reactions

Apply thin layer of cream to affected area twice a day.

 

Adverse  effects: 

Bruising, sweating, may impair wound healing, thinning of the skin

 

Exclusion of the self care:

Open wound

Diaper Rash

 

Do not use if

Patient is experiencing vaginal discharge

Allergic reaction to hydrocortisone

 

Stop use and ask your doctor:

  • If patient is actively bleeding

  • If the condition does not improve within 7 days

 

Drug interaction:

 

Special Instructions: 

Before applying the cream, clean the affected area with mild soap and warm water. Let it dry before the application. Do not apply bandage over the hydrocortisone application. Avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes
